After chatting to my big brother at 3am (6pm Arizona time), we rose early this morning from our rented house (see above to view our neighborhood - lots of rock) to find the InterMarche (an interesting mix of groceries and jewelry, with a discount clothing store built in). Sort of like a Wal-Mart, but smaller and more progressive....
We figured that we might as well follow the local diet of bread, cheese, wine and then some more wine and possibly some more cheese. Apparently, it is a well accepted practical diet resulting in all the best nutrients. I would feel disloyal to the locals by eating and drinking anything else.
Tonight it the final game of the World Cup and the "sports bar" across from our house is filled with people drinking and cheering - at noon. Really, you have to love the "joie de vivre" that the French have about sports and relaxation (and wine - did I mention the wine?).
